A Debrief of the 2019 Spring Semester

This semester has been full of fun! We started off our semester battling to find a space to hold our lab, but finally pinpointed down the perfect spot. Throughout these past months, we have reviewed various articles, discussing ideas such as serial killers, therapeutic communities, false confessions, child sexual assault cases, and more. Through these discussions, we have highlighted implications and limitations, leading our team to a brainstorm fest of new ideas of research. Some of these ideas are now being brought to life as we have begun to dive into research concerning Public Law 280. This summer, we will begin another project examining consent in student/teacher relationships. Our very own member, Travis, has even started up his own project examining therapeutic communities here in South Dakota, and we look forward to helping him with his work. We have determined that our team will present our research at various psychology conferences, including APA, and APLS in the year 2020. Our team has grown closer and looks forward to a new semester of diving into important topics concerning psychology and the law!
